I do blog hop a fair bit when I have the time to do so and I often bookmark a tone of new blogs but tend to forget about them very quickly... But not that one: The Purple Mail Box. Every time I go on Ashli Oliver's blog (better known as soapHOUSEmama) I experience something out of this world! The tones of colours, techniques, textures makes it a "must go to" blog! Every morning when drinking my coffee I check that she has updated her blog even before I check my emails or Facebook!!! It's an addiction! And she inspires me to go further, to step outside the box more than any other Scrapbooker! And she surely did for this layout!
The layering, the flowers, the stamped journalling, all of this layout is very much "me" but I know that I wouldn't have designed a layout with so much details, so much passion into it if it wasn't for Ashli's daily dose of inspiration! So go and check her out because she is soooo worth it!
For the little story behind this layout, this is a photo of my dad taken I would think during the very late 50's /early 60's and I love it! My grand parents use to have a small farm with a few animals and a little bit of land and I suppose that looking after the livestock was one of my dad's tasks. I used a mix of Studio Calico, Basic Grey and Kaisercrft papers for this layout. I hope this inspired you!
