Pretty in Pink

Over at CAS-ual Friday we are challenged to use black with a pastel shade. I really do struggle to use black as a main colour as it is but mixing it with a pastel colour?! Are you crazy?! Soooo out of my comfort zone!!! But it is not a challenge for no reasons so I decided to have a go. Well two actually...
I decided to create both cards with the same starting point: the same image stamped in the same place and in the same colour so that I could see what kind of different effect / story I could create, and it's amazing! Two cards completely different! One is very grungy/ youthful  and the other one is more classic and would suit for a wedding or for a baby card.

I outlined my stamped image with a black pen to give it a grungier look. I really like how it comes together with the splashes and the sentiment.

Here I left it plain. I used the masked technique to add the stamped text. I also like this result!

I had a lot of fun creating those two cards and I am sure to use black and pastel together again in the future! I hope this inspired you!

Well worth getting out of your comfort zone. I can't decide which I like best.
