One little pig, two little pigs,...

Since I was fifteen years old and until I came to the UK I have been living in cities: three years in Valence, two in Lyon and a bit more than one year in Paris. Although I was short of cash being a student I did enjoy greatly all the things cities have to offer: bars, concerts, nights out, great shops and restaurants and so on... Now that I live in the countryside in the Lake District, I do miss now and again the activities found in more populated areas. I do enjoy my life here though so I decided to design a layout that would show that. Cally (one of my Border Collies) absolutely loves Pigs. She is mesmerised by them! There are a few pigs five minutes walk away from our home and you just need to tell her "we go to see the pigs?" and she is at the door even before you ended the sentence! It is the kind of little thing I would miss out on if we were living somewhere else so I focused my page on those pigs.

The title was hand-written and then carefully cut to be inked with distress ink. I had to do it twice as I miss-spelled the first one. I actually had it glued down, layout finished when I showed it to Iain. He then turned around asking: "What is Contryside?" I said: "You're kidding, right?", him: "nope, you screwed-up". I was cursing! I never regretted so much gluing my title down with glossy accent than then. I had to re-write and re-cut it too. Without spelling mistake this time around!

I used some gorgeous Kaisercraft blooms and mini paper blooms along with some vintage buttons found on e-bay.

I love the background! I created it on kraft cardstock with white paint and with stamps from Waltzing Mouse. Such great value for money! Definitely one of my must have!

Finally I cut down small squares of pattern papers from Kaisercraft to put under my photograph and used the outlines of a full 12"x12" sheet behind my kraft cardstock. Did you notice I used together papers from two different collections? This is what I love about Kaisercraft! You can mix-up their collections and it works! I hope this inspired you!!!

Oh my. This is just *beautiful*! I love everything about this page... the kraft background, the paint splatters, the script stamping, the flowers, the handcut title.. everything is just perfect! It has such a beautiful, slightly shabby, vintagey look and feel to it and I just love it.

I will have bookmark this page so I can come back to it for inspiration. Actually... d'you mind if I pin this on Pinterest so I can find it again? :)
